Baron Mandleson of Foy

Not being coy:

?I can?t quite remember which member of the government it was who claimed to have abolished boom and bust. Well, we abolished boom!? Mandelson quipped, in reference to former Chancellor Gordon Brown.

Remind me now, who was it in autumn 2010 who announced we were out of the recession?

I think it was the same bloke who keeps announcing regularly that the "economy is healing". If long term unemployment going up, the debt going up, the deficit going up and loss of the UK's credit rating is "the economy is healing", I don't want to be around when it starts feeling poorly.

"I don't want to be around when it starts feeling poorly."

I know it's cold but you must have been hibernating since 2010. Feeling poorly is where the economy is now.

It's all Jonny Foreigner's fault apparently.

True, true, I feel your pain and I share your concerns, but it's going to take years to cure the ills caused by 17 years of Labour misrule, here is one small step:

Oh Alex, oh Alex

Post by David Johnson »

Alex, Alex,

Don't you actually read your sources that you link to?

"It (The UK Border Agency) will now be split into parts focusing on the visa system and on immigration law enforcement. Both parts will report directly to ministers.

It is the second time the UK Border Agency has been split in just over a year.

Last year, Mrs May announced that the UK Border Force - responsible for day-to-day operations - would stop being part of the agency and become a separate law-enforcement body"

Oh Alex, oh Alex. Now here is an example of fantastic promotion based on talent, experience and success carried out by our wonderful coalition government.

Lin Homer. Always best to steer clear of someone who spells her Christian name as Lin, don't you think?

Made a total pig's ear as CHief Executive of the UK Border Agency under Labour. And was that the end of her? No way, Alex, no way.

Ms Homer then found herself as Permanent Secretary to the Department of Transport in 2011. Yes one of her greatest successes at Transport was the controversial franchise letting process for West Coast Mainline rail network. Homer was among officials accused by Sir Richard Branson, head of Virgin Trains, of ignoring concerns about the letting process, whose failure is estimated to have cost ?100 million.

And then, having made a wonderful success of that, what job could she be put in to maximise her talents and expertise, Alex? Yes you have got it. Since December 2011 she has been CHief Executive at Her Majesty's Revenue and CUstoms. Fantastic appt! The very same HMRC criticised this week as having a piss poor customer service ethos.

I can see trouble ahead. Maybe Theresa can shuffle her back to dealing with dem immigrants? What do you reckon?

I laughed out loud at the weekend when watching an old episode of Top Gear. The car he was driving made a truly joyous noise and he said it was only bettered by the sound of Mandelson being attacked by bears. He meant Grizzlies whereas I imagine the Brazilian rent boy lover aka Mandy would prefer hairy arsed blokes. And he is a slimy twat to boot.

Argie

Excellent political analysis as always Argie, with that touch of homophobia which always suggests that you are a bit, ahem, confused about your sexuality.
