I was talking net, not sure if the link is gross or net. Either way 1% of fuck all is less than fuck all.

Argie/CB
There's a bloke at our place who has no arms and legs and only half a head.
But does that stop him doing a full day's work? No it does not. He just has to get to work early in order to get up the stairs in time to start his apprenticeship.
He's 67.
Some people don't know they are born.

You didn't say net and anyway hang on, who talks about net take home pay? When you or anyone goes for a job how many times do you ask what the net pay is? How many job adverts specify the net pay? It is always the gross figure.
The point is that benefit money has gone up 1% annually whereas those who actually work for a living have seen their income reduced.

Lots of vacancies at Poundland (if you want to work for nothing).

Apart from payng attention..
It would help if you thought a bit more too.
"The point is that benefit money has gone up 1% annually whereas those who actually work for a living have seen their income reduced."
That IS not the key point.
The key points are:
1. 1% of fuck all is really, really fuck all.
2. WHen has inflation been 1%? Is it likely that inflation will be 1% in the next 3 years? I don't think so.
3. Therefore this is a cut in fuck all if you include inflation.
"whereas those who actually work for a living have seen their income reduced."
Many have had a wage freeze which amounts to a wage cut if you include inflation.
However once again the battle is not unemployed v. employed. THe battle is between those who are being forced to pay for a banking crisis that was not caused by them and a coalition government who try to describe the situation purely in terms of divide and rule e.g. unemployed v. employed, public sector v. private sector, young v. oaps etc etc.

And obviously...
Some workers have had pay rises including mates of mine. Indeed I seem to recall workers at John Lewis get quite a tidy payout based on the performance of the company.
