Still it marks you out as someone who wants to go against the norm. Banning fags and stopping smoking an attack on personal freedoms ?
Nah minority mate - smoking is an attack on the choices of others that dont smoke - We all have the right to personal choices but these should be personal and not have a knock on effect on those that chose not to smoke.
2nd hand smoking and all that.
Anyways before you come back with the its a faux cig take a look at it from our point of view - it looks like a fag so we'll think its a fag and as smoking is not permitted id rather you didnt.
the e-cig is still in its infancy and you will see that they are now working on including this in the legislation to stop the use of such devices in public areas - you want the nicotine hit then chew the gum or wear the patches.
I like a wank but Im not going to get it out in the cinema and toss one out, or like wise in the supermarket - you say thats different - is it all that different ? Its doing something that others find to be distasteful and may have issues with, so why push the point ?

I see what you're saying, it's just that the e-cig is not really smoke, once you 'exhale' it disappears. No one has made any comment about it yet, including everyone in my local pub (about half of them don't smoke normal cigs or e-cigs). Everyone knows everyone in there, the barman has never smoked in his life, and he was happy for me to do it. A mate of mine, who doesn't smoke, said to me when I mentioned it to him, that if he was in a restaurant and someone had an e-cig going nearby he would ask them to stop. Fair enough. If asked I would put it back in the packet. No one has minded so far. Even if public places banned these things, like they've done normal fags, I would just smoke them outside like I've done normal cigarettes for the last 6 years. It would be a bit of a pain to do that, but I would still have the health benefits.
