Bryan Ferry? Seriously Steve?
Re: Favourite/best lead singer
Good one , a band with a massive following abroad but not so at home .
Another with a good voice , great stage presence and sex appeal by the skip load and he's only been dead 15 years Michael Hutchence .
Cheers JJ .

Re: Favourite/best lead singer
Some great proposals here. How many of you have picked a singer, for instance, yet don't care much for the music? Just wondering if it's the singing that makes you like the music sung, or the music sung that colours your view of the singer.
Anyway, apart from Bob Singleton, I don't think any of us mentioned a female singer. Partly due to, of course, me asking specifically for lead singers of bands, rather than solo artists. There just haven't been as many female lead singers of bands than male.
Which leads me to a query from you all: why do you think there have been a smaller percentage of female bands compared to male bands, yet the numbers are far more equal when looking at solo artists. Is it because all-girl bands aren't seen as 'cool'?
Anyway......while not a contest, it seems Freddie would have won by some margin!
