Is it not about time that meaningless "concurrent" sentences were replaced with consecutive.
In this shocking attack, the perpetrator gets away with not serving any time at all for the second offence.
The article states:
"He was jailed for four years for the attack on the teenager and 19 months for punching the student, although the two sentences will run concurrently."
With a blow like that, the girl fell dead weight to the floor and as does happen, could easily have been killed when her skull hits the pavement.

If he was a dog he'd be put down
Thats all I'm saying.
Guys like that always end up doing it to the wrong person. He'll be looking over his shoulders in the showers inside.
Theres some right nasty pieces of work from Plaistow who would shank him and have tea and biscuits without their pulse skipping a beat

Re: More Concurrent Nonsense
Very true OEJ although it would be nice not to have to rely on prison "justice"
I really struggle to understand the logic of the "concurrent" sentence which is used so often by judges in the UK
Although often laughed at, the US idea of totting up the time to serve, sometimes giving total sentences over 100 years makes much more sense, at least in cases of violence, they ain't ever coming out!
