I didn't see the Brit Awards but I heard she did well last night. I think Adele has a nice voice and I like the 'Skyfall' song. She is an absolutely massive star across the world, I've just been listening to 'Skyfall' on YouTube and I am copying and pasting below the viewing figures some of her videos on there have got. These are impressive, shows how many people like her.
Skyfall - 84,815,773 viewings
Someone Like You (BRIT Awards 2011) - 142,395,284 viewings
Someone like you (video) - 250,699,812 viewings
Rolling in the deep - 379,578,405 viewings
There are others of hers on there with very high viewing figures too. It seems the girl from Tottenham done good! I think she's a good artist although she is not very good at acceptance speeches. She is almost in the same league as Bono with regard to saying silly things when receiving an award - nice singing voice though. What do other people here think of Adele?

Example a) Fat chain-smoker who can't keep a boyfriend writes and sings some songs about it. Max bestows upon subject worldwide recognition.
Example b) Man with no legs reaches Olympic semi-finals using prosthetic limbs after years and years of hard work, injuries and dedication. Max thinks we're all making a fuss over nothing.

To be fair, Adele hasn't yet killed any of the men she can't keep.

Apparently the 'Skyfall' film came out on DVD this week. I intend getting a copy, I think HMV is still open. I've not seen it but there are lots of apparantly well done London location scenes in it which makes it appealing. I hope it's better than The Sweeney - quite a good film but the use of London in the flick was like watching an episode of The Apprentice.

Wasn't arguing about who was the safest bet to babysit your kids, but comparing their achievements and pointing out that Max, weirdly, thinks one is much more deserving of press attention than the other.

Music for women with period pains is how she can be summed up. I respect the fact she is her own woman and writes her own stuff but the voice is torture. Like everyone in the last few years she is regarded as a legend.
I'll stick to Dusty Springfield.

I think part of Adele's appeal is she isn't your typical stick thin model like singer, but a 'real woman'. Girls and young women who are a little larger can relate. There seems to be a trend for this now, fashion ads include bigger women now where as years ago they were all matchsticks.

I've got to be honest I absolutely cannot stand the woman. I think she has a truly grating, dreadful voice and her lyrics are nothing but nonsensical crap.
"I set fire to the rain". What the fuck?! It doesn't mean anything but people label her as deep. No! It's not deep. It's bollocks!
Even the tunes are awful.

The lyrics are a bit naff sometimes, but I was very touched by that performance she did at the Brits a couple of years ago. She was emotional doing it and I think it really launched her career.
