From the lack of interest to my posting last week about BVE, I think there's only OEJ and me going. Could be wrong but I dont think there's much interest in new kit amongst the few shooters on here, especially when, as recently, there's lengthy discussion on cameras in the ?500 or less area.

It looks like that's where the UK market is, an ebay/Amazon comsumer camcorder, edited with whatever free software comes with it, shot under room lighting, or maybe some of those builders lights from B&Q if it's a big budget production.

I dont suppose i will be placing any big orders either but the guys from Pond5 are coming over from New York and have a stand at the expo and as i sell stock film from their site it would be good to chat with them.

I went to this event a few years ago and it is certainly a learning curve, well worth a visit..

You guys into film and TV gear are in for a treat next week. Some sexy new stuff being rolled out and a whole load of seminars to attend, books to buy, people to meet, bric a brac...Only 3 days a year to do it in.

Not unknown for me to get excited about something at the show and go back the next day to snap it up.

Dont see too many folk from the adult industry there but the ones I do seem to be more involved with broadcast or production companies.

Not an event for the camcorder crowd still using 1 chip palmcorders LOL

Those up north get a chance to have a show later in the year

I visited on wednesday and it was packed, the canons started around four grand and escalated through the roof, panosonic were slightly cheaper but you will never go wrong with a canon.

I never placed any orders but i did load my pockets with free pens and sweets which i exchanged with an eastern european girl who worked in one of the coffee bars in the Excel for a handjob, anyway it was all free so well worth a visit..

Wasn't bad. Went today. There were a few things took my fancy, apart from all the free pens; my favourite camera of the moment, the Sony F5, a Pole-cam with a Canon C3/500 on the end, and the pola sheet for shooting against windows with bright exteriors. The model helicopter camera mounts were pretty cool as well.
