"You see, David, this is why you talk bollocks."
Yet you find it impossible to challenge me with anything factual.
"You are such a pretentious twat "
Try putting something sensible in a post. Gratuitous insults are so, so juvenile.
"This entire post is about people trying to push their views and religion onto a non-Muslim country."
"People"? how many people? I have worked with loads of Muslim "people" on projects and not one of them have tried to "push their views and religion" on me. I have frequented regularly loads of Muslim shops and they have never tried to "push their views and religion". Have you been on the receiving end of all that? SOme people in all religions are extremist, but this tends to be a minority and it is certainly a minority in my experience in the UK.
"I see you mention white people. Doesn't Britain have black people, then?"
Of course, the point I am making is that there are extremists in all races and religions. What you cannot do is extrapolate from the few and describe an entire race or religion based on a few which is what this journalist is doing.
"Do I get much Sharia law down my way? Not particularly, no. That's a stupid thing to say. I said some people are trying to make it law in Britain. Look it up."
Well that makes two of us that are not experiencing sharia law. By that dumb journalist who seems to have impressed you, that must mean that 100% of people do not experience sharia law based on our indepth survey!! Some "people". What percentage of people? YOu haven't got a clue have you?
"The gist of it is, David, if you go to another country you respect their views. We're not a Muslim country so don't try and make us one"
Yes, just like the British tourists and army respect the views of people in Cyprus.
"We wouldn't go to a Muslim country and start eating pork or drinking alcohol."
You have obviously had a sheltered life. You need to talk to British expats who have lived and worked in Muslim countries. You are extremely na?ve.
"Our way life is not a Muslim one."
Thanks for that tremendous insight. I will try to remember that the next time the bloke in the corner shop tries to drag me kicking and screaming to Friday prayers.
Jeez give me strength!!!!!
"The gist of it is, David, if you go to another country you respect their views.
What do you think?

At the end of the day, it's going to die and you're going to eat it (or wear it or both) ? does it matter that much how it meets its end? Isn't that why we pay butchers rather than slaughtering the meat ourselves?

Purely cultural ? same as with the recent horse meat furore ? we don't eat cats and dogs in this country. Go to the Far East where they do and they think that our beliefs are weird.

If you have eaten in a curry house in this country in the last 20 or so years, you have almost certainly eaten halal meat.

Re: The hellhole that is Wokingham
I dont eat curries with meat. And Im picky where I get my food from.... dirty curry houeses aint on the list.
The point is that yes we eat meat but the slaughter should be ethical and yes I do care about how an animal is killed - slitting a throat and letting it die upside down aint the way you go about it.
Maybe we need to look at the barbaric practices in this country first....
