So having started My lose belly/total rebuild thingy I have now lost just under one stone !!
Am finding it good going at the moment but a long way to go before I show you tossers up and become an even better stud than I already am.
Am doing a mix of the Slim fast shakes and no carbs.
So shake for brek and lunch with a snack in between lunch and dinner of either fruit or tinned fish (like mackrel or sardines)
Then for dinner a mixed salad with either steak,pork chop,chicken, salmon or eggs.
Dont really feel that hungry and its going well. I also in my lunch half hour go for a fast walk of 1.5 miles and at the weekends go for a 6 mile walk.
when I get my crappy mountain bike up and running again will go out on that again.
Havent got a target weight in mind but am just going to see how much I can lose.

First month is getting into a routine. Weight falls off fast because your metabolism is high and when you cut the calories your body breaks down muscle tissue for energy first (it's easier for your body to process proteins from muscle than breaking down fat). Because muscle is over 70% water, it's the water that's the main cause of weight loss. Out of that stone you lost only half of it will be fat. You're body won't break down muscle it needs, which is why exercise is as important as the diet. If you're body doesn't break down the muscle, because it needs it for the exercise you're doing, it has to find energy from other stores........that's you're fat.
As I said, fat is harder to break down into simple sugars and you'll then start feeling the hunger much more. The second and third months will be harder but if you can get through them your stomach sack will start shrinking to a more normal size, which means you'll feel full quicker and not eat as much anyway.
You'll notice other things too......like being a few stone lighter means you get out of bed with fewer aches and pains as you used to. I've had 40 year olds tell me they feel like they did in their 20s after getting their weight down to healthy levels.
When you can't walk because of the weather, do some burpees and pushups. Look online for a simple exercise regimen for indoors. You'll need to keep your muscles in your upper body too or your body will cannibalize them. "If you don't use 'em, you'll lose 'em!"
The more muscle you can stop being used for fuel the longer you'll keep up your metabolism and fat burning.
I still think you'll fail. Come back at Easter and prove me wrong.

Keep at it - im back on the diet - use the packs from dietsave much cheaper -
Black coffee and cut as much carbs as you can - plenty of water too it helps with buring fat etc.
Exercise - buy a cheap bike and do a few circuits a day squatts and running up stairs.
Faith in you and keep going - try to aim for around five months diet and then start to watch what you eat when you maintain your target weight. on the scales every couple of days and adjust your intake.....

Aint got a target weight.
I bought 12 tubs of slim fast. Well didnt buy most of them,boots had a 50% off offer so I got most on My boots card points, so didnt cost anything.
I like coffee but not black.
Aint doing it for any of you tossers like sambo for example.

Ello tosser.
Already know most of that but am keeping an eye on the scales and if things slow down/stop then will alter things around. May even try weight watchers but want to keep to no carb meals.

Another one on the weight loss train here...
I made it my new year's resolution to slim down and fitten up and it seems to be going well so far. I decided to launch a three-pronged attack on the flab as follows:
- Diet: cutting out all the junk in favour of stuff like rice, pasta, etc. I'm allowing myself a 'cheat' day once every few weeks where I treat myself to something naughty like pizza
- Weight training. Four times per week, each session concentrating on a different muscle group. Basic free weights exercises like bench press, squats, deadlifts. The aim is to prevent the muscle loss that Sam Slater describes
- Walking. I'm currently walking a couple of miles every day, taking in a few hills along the way. Actually quite easy to fit in my daily routine - I just take a slightly longer route on my way to the supermarket
I'm not weighing myself, just going by how I feel. Lung capacity has improved and consequently the hills feel a lot easier now. Towards the end of last year my feet would feel stiff if I'd been on them for a long time - that's disappeared. And best of all, clothes are starting to feel a bit looser.

Best tip regarding a target:
Forget the scales completely. Just measure your waistline once a fortnight. Aim for about an inch a month (you may lose it faster at first but it will slow down).
Measure your waist first thing in the morning after a piss. That way you're not measuring your last meal. And measure about an inch below the naval, not on it, above it or down around your hips. Same place every time.
On average, I find you lose about 2lbs of fat per 1/4 inch of waistline. It's not exact of course but it's a better estimate than scales, which weight muscle (that fluctuates if you're dieting and exercising).

Im going a bit further than you. Im not having carbs ,so no spuds,bread of any kind,pasta,pizza or anything like it.
I can do a mile walk at 13mph average (according to my new app on my phone)
Weekends I try and get out and walk 6 miles or so at an average to fast pace and take a rucksack and get some shopping to make it heavy then walk home.

Went into holland and barrett today and got myself some "fat metaboliser" tablets.
Will use up the Appetite control tablets first that I got from boots then try them.
Bought myself more fish today, some salmon and other dishes.

Hmmm, 13mph may be a bit much for a walking pace.
The average 'quick' pace is 4mph.
You may wish to change that to a run....
Good on you though. I did it last year and lost somewhere in the region of 3 - 3.5 stone. I've kept all but a few pounds off as well.
My main method was, as Sam and others pointed out, keeping the exercise up. My allotment was the major source of workout. More satisfying than a gym and you get tasty fruit and veg as a by-product.
