One thing that I have never heard mentioned was that he was/was not ever given a CRB check.
I am aware that in the days of "jim'll fix it", there was no such thing but we have had CRB checks now for at least 10 years and you are generally not allowed to go near children/hospital visiting/vunerable people/charity events without holding the correct paperwork.
I would imagine that if case's now come to court regarding more recent abuses payment to the victims may hinge on correct procedures not being followed because JS was not correctley checked.
If no checks were carried out (even tho' there seems to be enough historical evidence that was on file to ensure that JS was never to be allowed in a position of trust), then the BBC and the NHS will be spending our Licence Fee and Tax pounds in paying out for this failure.
