Are any politicians remember nicely?

Post by Von Boy »

Apart from Churchill, I cannot think of any politician that the people who voted them in talks nicely about...
The left spend all the money, the right don't spend enough... its never ending!

Sadly you voted them in so as Paul Weller said in going underground...

"the public gets what the public wants!"

The discussion around Churchill is subjective as well.

I have to remind people that Churchill was never elected as Prime Minister in 1940, he got the job when he became party leader, you know like Gordon Brown.

As soon as there was a chance for him to stand as Prime Minister in 1945 he lost by a landslide.

He lost in a General Election again in 1950.

Although he managed to win the 1951 General Election (321 Conservative Seats to Labour's 295), his party did not win the popular vote.

"The left spend all the money, the right don't spend enough... its never ending!"

Nice slogan but absolutely no basis in truth whatsoever.

Follow the link below and click on the first bar chart. It will show you that until the global finance collapse came along, the Labour government were no more in deficit than the Tories had been in the 90's. In fact from 1998 to the end of 2001 the budget was in surplus under Labour, something Thatcher never achieved.

Since Churchill only MacMillan for the Tories and Jim Calaghan for Labour as Premiers are worth rememberring. The rest since then have ALL been complete and utter shytes, along with all the rest of their cronies. The present bunch are remarkable for fuckall. Not one of them has had a proper job therefore they know nothing about the ordinary bloke and woman.
I think another Dissolution of Parliament should happen and let the Monarch rule the country with the Armed Services to back her up. They could close the borders and sling out ALL illegals back to where they came from, just for starters.

You forget Harold Wilson.

If it wasn't for him standing up to LBJ, you would have been fighting in Vietnam.

We could call it the Forth Reich.

Tony Blair is worshipped by his CIA masters and the shareholders at Grumman, Carlyle, General Dynamics and Lockheed.

I didn't forget Wilson. I missed him out for a reason. MacMillan and Callaghan served during the war whilst Wilson skulked the war away in the Board of Trade. As for keeping us out of Vietnam, yes, it was probably the only good thing he did apart from setting up the OU.
