I would certainly view the slavemaster as someone worthy and deserving of a slow and painful death, along with all his staff and helpers, it just might slow down the escapee's if they were to kill him. Other people might be alerted to their escape if they offed the bastard too.

A simple escape would be followed up and they would try and catch the escaped slaves, but may give up the hunt after a while if the salves were long gone. If they had killed the slavemaster and his people they may really put huge efforts into catching them therefore the escaped slaves would have a greater chance of being caught.

This short film (cartoon) taken from the film "Bowling For Columbine", which was made about the gun issue and the shootings at Columbine in America, touches on the slave issue, white nastiness, guns, rights for black people and so on. Have a watch. It's just 3 minutes long. I found it interesting:

Still waiting for you to answer this Kim:

So rather that just toss around lazy accusations of "racist", why not just answer the point, which I'll put again: (a) What's your take on slavery in Africa (i.e. the slavery NOT involving the Europeans that stretches back to the time of the Pharoahs and continues even today) and (2) is slavery OK by you if it's black-on-black?

Look forward to seeing what you have to say on that. Cheers!

Its astonishing how many white people on here constantly go on about racism and racist issues.

I doubt ANY of you have ever had any form of racist comment made to you or made to feel a certain way about your race.

Of course its well and good to come onto a forum and talk about it. Keyboard warriors do nothing to help real life issues.

From the 70s to now i have seen all manner of racism and never once seen it directed at a caucasian person yet!

but keep talking it may help but i doubt it very much

"I would certainly view the slavemaster as someone worthy and deserving of a slow and painful death"

You did it again Max. Now your trying to ingratiate me and again we still think differently.

I dont think the slavemaster deserves a slow painful death at all. Thats to imply there is some kind of enjoyment or sense of vengeful fulfilment to go with it. Killing a man is never pleasant so I would have mercy enough to kill him quick.

Just enough to necessitate an effective escape. I'm not evil !laugh!

Why prolongue something that will ultimately impact on your psyche. Do it and move on. It will be easier to forget about it in a haze of alcohol later

"I would have mercy enough to kill him quick."

I've never been one for having mercy on evil people, they deserve very bad things happening to them. I agree though that it could mess up the killer pychologicaly so it might be better to do it quickly. As I said also though, killing the guy might mean more people would be after the escaping slaves so it might be in their interests not to kill him - thus giving them a greater chance of escape.

OEJ - answer to your question

Post by David Johnson »

Sorry, just saw your post.

Kill the bastard would be my answer.

As I have said elsewhere in exchanges with Mr Flat Eric,, although some might view the killing as a crime, I believe some actions are justified under a moral law.

Another example would be the attempts by Germans to kill Hitler to try and bring the end of the war more quickly. A crime but justified under a higher moral law in my view.

But whose morals, David? Yours? Mine? The governments? Extremist muslims believe it's morally right to kill anyone who does or says anything against the Koran or Prophet Muhammed and, when they do, get called murderers.

So whose morals should we abide/live by?

It's only morally right when you agree with it.
