Grew up in a large Muslim community and been called a few racist names in my time. Not often, mind, but it happens. I used to walk past a wall on the way to school for years where someone had painted 'WHITE BASTARDS' in 4 foot lettering. There's a park in my old neighbourhood that had the 'no tipping' sign sprayed over with 'no whites'. It doesn't happen to most white people because they're the majority, and even if it did, being a majority gives one a certain comfort and it's not taken seriously. However, once you're in a large neighbourhood where you are the minority, racism can feel a whole lot more menacing, which is why I have constantly tried to explain to many on here who equate it to just another form of name-calling.
Implying that white people shouldn't/can't talk or argue about racism because they're not the victims as often as other ethnicities only plays into the hands of racists who'll take your words and twist them to show you want preferential treatment to everyone apart from them. Principally you're wrong and tactically you just gave the people you're battling an edge.

What you say is true of 99% of human communication whether it is face to face or on the Internet.
