BBC Sports Personality of the year...

Post by max_tranmere »

Just watched this on BBC1. Bradley Wiggins won, and it is certainly deserved. I'm surprised Victoria Pendleton wasn't nominated, I voted for Jessica Ennis and the line was engaged for ages. I eventually got though, I thought she was going to win to be honest. The production of this programme was very impressive, the BBC did a good job. Who else watched this and what did you think of the production and of Bradley Wiggins winning?

Wiggins was my pick, followed by Mo Farah and then Ennis. Don't know why Mo didn't figure higher.

We thought Wiggins for the win, what he did in that period to win the Tour and then an Olympic gold is pretty much unrepeatable. Nice to see Jess come in second. Best moment was when Lennox missed his cue to give Andy the 3rd place trophy, loved Murrays smiling reaction.

Maybe giving the Team award to both the Olympic and Paralympic teams was a bit of a cop out.

What a year for sport it has been, best in my lifetime I think.

Good to see Kate Middleton up and about after he recent stint in hospital. You usually get the winner of the award being the one on the front pages the following day but Kate has overshawed Wiggins and it is her on most of the front pages this morning. Maybe this was intentional, her spin doctors thought it would be a good way to get her back into the public eye after her not having been there much (at least for anything other than being in hospital for the last week and a half) so they arranged for her to give and award at this ceremony.

Good to see Jess Ennis' arse as she walked up to collect!

We have need of you again, great king.

The great thing about this year was the amount of genuine winners rather personalities. But why do we have to roll out Beckham at every possible occasion? Hasn't lived here for years and is a worse self publicist than his wife.

Superb prog and although I didn't vote (never do) I thought Wiggo would win it.

Loved it all.

They showed the footballers for being the spoilt little primadonnas they now are- they are finished as role models after this year.

Was a little pee'd off when they did the "this year we lost" bit and the camera concentrated on Emile Sande and not the VT.

Much more than a handful but never a waste.
