I?m not a big fan of Prescott, but all this talk of him being humiliated is tosh.

If this election had been run as a first past the post election, you know like most elections in England, he would have won.

1st preference votes Prescott got 24.9%, and the Tory 22.0%.



It?s only because 2nd preference votes were taken into account that ended up with the Tory elected.

In reality this means most people ended up with their second choice.

The whole PCC elections have been an omni shambles from the get go.

I read that Prestcott blamed a bad media campaign. He conveniently overlooked that the voters were the voters of Hull who had returned the fat useless bastard for 40 something years. At long last they were obviously glad to be rid of him.
