Race?
We're all human. Stop using this word.
Scientists stopped using 'race' a long time ago. Now they use ethnicity, population or civilization.
I'm not trying to be a pedant, I just wish people would stop perpetuating the misuse of 'race'.
Underneath our skin color we are all the same. Blacks are not a race. They are not even black, they are brown or light brown. Some are even lighter than 'white' people.
The sooner we stop using these incorrect words the better. They just create barriers and boundaries between us. There's no 'black' and 'white'. 'Us' and 'them'. 'One thing' and the 'opposite'.
The media used this case as a package. It's entertainment. It's a way of selling papers. If a young ethnic girl, an immigrant, a traveler, an asylum seeker, a Muslim went missing they knew damn fine that they would not be able to whip the public up into a frenzy.
Not the way it should be, but the way it is.
