Jeff Lynne/ELO night on BBC4...

Post by max_tranmere »

Did anyone watch any of this the other night? The one hour documentary where Jeff Lynne was interviewed about his life and music was particularly interesting. I've been listening to ELO on YouTube a lot over the last few days. I'd forgotten just how brilliant a band ELO were, and how great a songwriter Jeff Lynne is.

Yeah from 1972 onwards they seemed to make records that were different and likeable Showdown etc

Absolutely superb night's TV.

I was up till about 2.00 am watching the documentary and then the follow-up programmes including the ELO concert from 1978.

I have placed my order for the new CD with Amazon already.

Last link didn't work, lol. I listened to an ELO classic 'Mr Blue Sky' just now. It has been covered by huge numbers of people on YouTube - which proves how popular, and just how much of a classic, the song is:

Seen them twice in Shepherds Bush as a reformed band and they were absolutely superb.
