Paralympics- Positive thread.

Post by Lizard »

I won't waste my time on the other thread, just to say that these people are simply amazing and should be an inspiration to everyone. Why would anyone think these games shouldn't be held? I hope they go on to bigger and better things.
Truly inspirational.

Well said that man. Truly inspirational as you say. People who in many cases have been dealt a shit set of cards in life but have transcended their disabilities in terms of how many view them to be real heroes and role models.

Personally, I have found watching the Paralympics an emotional experience.

I agree with you both.

As I said on t'other thread, some of the events have kicked the Olympics' arse for sheer sporting entertainment.

Just as an example; If any of you watched the Women's 4 x 100m Medley Relay yesterday, you'll have been on the edge of your seat, just like me.
I don't remember a race in the Olympics where there were four swimmers finishing within a hair's breadth of each other. Especially after such a race, where the postitions changed almost every other length.
