Good old Max,definitely in the brucie,bob monkhouse,jimmy tarbuck old school of comedy and entertatinment. RIP.

Great family entertainer, from that old-school period of harmless fun. Now days you have to be coarse to be a comedian but back then the kids could watch with their granny. Every time one of these oldtimers dies the chances of us every returning to an era of good old family fun diminishes.

sad but not unexpected as it was divulged last year he had alzheimers.
There are so many of these from the golden age of TV getting on now, Des O'Connor, Brucie and Ken Dodd.

And have you noticed that whenever one of them shuffles off, it's always either Brucie or Tarbie who gets wheeled out to give a eulogy on TV (this time it was Tarbie).
I wonder who'll do it for Brucie and Tarbie when they go (assuming that they ever do).
