Putin certainly is very scary, but I'm with you on this one Mr Slip. People shouldn't have to put up with hooliganism ANYWHERE.

I'm no lawyer (gasps of surprise and amazement all round!) and I don't know all the details of what they did exactly (I mean did they break anything, hit or threaten anybody?), so I don't know if their sentence is excessive or not. That song seems pretty disrespectful and offensive, though....

I read your main thread I was expecting some liberal daft support for these
young ladies, but I largely agree with you. They have every right to object
to Putin but I agree with you that a christian cathedral is not the place to
chant out obscene lyrics. The media seem to have ignored this in a frenzy
of loathing against Putin and the Russia he is creating in his image. Fair
enough (he is repellent). But if a punk group stormed into St Paul`s
Cathedral and did the same thing I think our media, especially the Daily
Mail variety, would be outraged.
