So the punk whatever girl group Pussy Riot has been jailed in Russia for hooliganism and the rest of the World is outraged. The media screaming that they were jailed for singing against Putin, what utter bollocks.

They were jailed for storming a Russian orthodox church, running onto the alter and disrespecting hundreds of years of tradition and the sensitivities of millions. They are being hailed as "Suffragettes" and yet they have no actual political voice other than, "We don't like Putin, we think!"

As usual we are being played for saps by the international media whipping up hatred against Russia. I expect the USSR did the same when Johnny Rotten and Sex Pistols screamed obscenities on TV in the 1970's. I expect they told their people, "At last the proletariat of Britain are rising up against the Capitalist warmongers, Johnny Rotten is the leader of the revolution!

Just because I'm not religious doesnt make it any less of an invasion and anti social. I wouldve felt the same way about hooligans in an old peoples home too.

As for the penalty....Welcome to Russia baby. I think media intervention and celebrity opinions has made it even more hard on them.

Living in Eastern Europe you realise the church is extremely important to many mostly older people. They are quiet, serene places for them. I am not religious at all, but what is so wrong with certain places being treated with some respect.

Look at the expressions of shock and horror on the old people watching their church get defiled. But hey, who gives a shit about a few million old cunts, when its a group trying to get publicity for their latest single?
