Hi folks - as a new update - it was agreed today that the Hungarian Porn
Biz will stay closed until 3 Sept. New testing processes are being
introduced here even tougher than before and all performers will also be
required for the time being to also be injected against syphilis even if their
2 special blood tests are negative. A performer here from 3 Sept must show
a) Full test for all sex diseases b) 2 special syphilis blood tests c) be
injected as a preventative.
I am informed that Prague is also now closed except for soft shoots. How
long that is so remains to be seen.
Within 2 months all Hungarian tests will also be viewable online (this is
already the case in Prague).
The epidemiolgy of the problem ie the size is now clear and we are confident
that with new rules in place work will resume in Sept for healthy performers.

How can you be "injected against syphillis" when I can find no record of a vaccine against syphilis.

I will make some enquiries with London's St Mary's Hospital, GUM clinic and ask if they have heard of such a vaccine. They should know as Penecillin was discovered there!

I will report back, but in the mean time this is a quote from a sexual nealth website:

"There is no vaccine for syphilis, no acquired immunity to syphilis, and past infection provides no protection! A person can be infected with syphilis, treated, and then become reinfected, once, twice, or a hundred times."

In other words Syphillis is a bacterium not a virus and therefore you don't get immunity after you are exposed.

Actually it has just clicked. I suspect what they are proposing is to inject everyone , even when they have clear tests, from a major London teaching hospital and from from outside the infection area of Budapest with a massive , intramuscular injection of Penecillin, as a precautionary measure.

You can also ask at any clinic, "How is syphilis treated ?" The answer, as
stated on numerous websites - I quote directly from wikipedia - "The
FIRST CHOICE treatment for an UNCOMPLICATED (ie early infection)
syphilis REMAINS a single dose of intromuscular PENICILLIN G or a single
dose (for those one assumes allergic to penicillin) of a single dose of oral

I also see on the web that in a study by the World Health Organization last
year of approx 1500 cases of syphilis in Lima, Peru, penicillin was found to
be 100% effective in 96% of cases and, HIV cases excluded, effective in
98% of cases.

No probs Frank, it was just in your first post I misunderstood the bit about, "Injection" and presumed it was some kind of novel Eastern European "vaccine" against the disease.

Injecting everyone with penecillin and notarising the fact is a good idea as long as EVERYONE refuses to work with anyone at all who has not got the correct paperwork, which is quite easy in Budapest since all certs come from the same clinic. You are correct Penecilin is the most potent antibiotic against syphillis.

The difference between an epidemic in Budapest and a similar epidemic over here is this. Over here we'd never hear about it!

That is totally untrue Jim!!!

If it reached epidemic status it would be mentioned. You only have to see the little outbreaks here and there and the recent HIV scare for examples and pleased dont make it look like Hungary has a better system than us because if it did why have 22 people been infected with syphillis?

Do they have a problem with people faking their certs? Lets dig a bit here but are we afraid what truths may be unearthed because there is always something that can explain why the situation has got this out of control.

Its not that they have a "Better system" it is the fact it is much easier to police an epidemic, because there is only one place to go if you get an STD, the main clinic in Budapest.

Over here it relies completely on performers being trusted to tell everyone they have worked with that they have contracted an STD and I'm afraid that generally THEY DO NOT DO THIS. They simply drop out, get treated and carry on.

Also you say an epidemic would be "mentioned" that is not quite the same as the whole industry being shut down as they have done in Budapest to erradicate the problem.

Frank can confirm this, but the clinic and the 2 major agents sat down and worked out a course of action, this would never happen here.

Speaking as a "Performer" ie someone who is actually taking the risks, I am always much more confident working in Budapest than I have ever been in the UK and bear in mind the the ratio of shoots done between Budapest and the UK is about 15 girls to 1 UK girl!

Is injecting Penicillin as a precautionary measure a good idea medically speaking?

Using Penicillin as a precautionary measure encourages a new strain of virus to emerge which the current drug would not work well or as well against.

Jim, with the dishonesty of some people I reckon there is some self treatment going on to mask the effects as they know they have it but want to earn the money.

The problem is, because they are not doctors themselves they have no idea how much to take and for how long without professional medical supervision.

We can argue about this all day but the facts speak for themselves. 22 people caught it. If this was HIV there would be armegeddon in Budapest right now.

I recollect a twitter from one of the biggest companies out there at the time of our "HIV situation" some moons ago where our industry was locked down and this company invited people to come out to Budapest and work instead. How irresponsible was that???? Think big company and you might come somewhere to knowing who I am talking about and Im sure you can back track it on their twitter stream too.

The real enemy of all this is ignorance and people need to understand that if they are not treated properly then this is the result. No work until September the 3rd. That must really be pissing people off right now.
