Re: Dear Cupcake..
Why on earth should I do that?
Where else would I get such endless amusement on the Interweb?
Just like you Liz, I enjoy a good laugh too.

Lizard/Jim
Look Lizard, it is very simple.
If Jim shows some respect, I will do likewise. Just as I feel I do for people like Essex Lad and Eric who tend not to often agree with me.
If he doesn't, I will continue to rip the piss out of him mercilessly. It is entirely up to him.
Simples!

Re: New Labour calamity- a recap
For the benefit of our resident New Labour mouthpiece David Johnson here is a brief recap on New Labours single handed destruction of the UK economy. Read and weep!
Can anyone see why our economy would be any better off now, if this bunch of clowns had continued in power?

"Labour inherited a growing economy, falling borrowing, rising employment, a true golden legacy"
This sounds very true. Thanks to the Tories chief cheerleader, Jim Slip for this link. You are a real pal. And can I say how deeply honoured I am to have Jimslip, a "well known and successful producer and member of this site for years" to deign to reply to one of my posts. I feel truly blessed.
Yes being brought up in the North of England I remember the halcyon glory days of life under Thatcher and Major. The sun always shone; there was full employment everywhere; every local school had an Olympic sized pool attached; hospitals were like walking into the Ritz; families played in what seemed a never ending period of wealth, happiness and health.
And then the Labour party got in and everything changed. I no longer had shoes on my feet, my wife ran off with a wealthy fat cat from the local Health Board and my daughter developed rickets because forumites, we didn't have enough cash left over from the three jobs I did to buy her milk.
Thank CHrist this horror finished in 2010 and the good old Tories were back again. Since then, everything has been just fine! The Tories have got the economy firmly back on track. Mind I have got a touch of pain with piles at the moment, but that is all New Labour's fault as is the athlete's foot that m gran has.
Happy Days are here again!

Careful, Jimbo!
Thanks Jim for helping me understand how New Labour was so terrible. Alas you have shot yourself in the foot, not for the first time on this forum.
Two of the books you link to -The Bumper Books of Government Waste
"Welcome again to the world of waste. In this new edition of "The Bumper Book", Matthew Elliot and Lee Rotherham have unearthed a staggering GBP101 billion of government misspending "
Jim, have they written a book about how David Cameron told us in autumn 2010 that we were firmly out of recession because of the Tories sound economic management and yet so far we have had ?375 billion quantitative easing that Osborne has poured into the banks? Where's that dosh gone?
By the way Jim, do you know who Matthew Elliot is? You know the bloke who wrote the books you refer to?
He's the Chief Executive of the Taxpayers Alliance. In September 2010, it was reported that the TaxPayers' Alliance was organising an event sponsored by several American lobbyists and groups involved in the Tea Party movement, including the Americans for Prosperity Foundation, the Cato Institute and the Heritage Foundation. The Alliance has also sought advice from the Tea Party leadership, with Matthew Elliott stating in September 2010: "We need to learn from our European colleagues and the Tea Party movement in the US. It will be fascinating to see whether it will transfer to the UK. Will there be the same sort of uprising?"
In October 2009 Elliott admitted that another director of the group, Alexander Heath, had not in fact paid any British taxes for several years as he resides in a farmhouse in the Loire in France. Heath has lived and paid taxes in France since 1973.
Bit of an own goal Jimbo!!!!!!
