I've never seen the appeal of 'shorts'. They are gone too quickly. Give me a pint of lager any day.

David, you've got to treat yourself now and again. I have a bottle of brandy that cost over ?100--- pricey, certainly but the last bottle lasted about 2 years so ?100 over 2 years = acceptable.

They had the same sort of total lockdown outside the Commonwealth Games in Manchester in 2002, you could not get anywhere near the arena unless you had a ticket, and you have never seen so many armed cops in your life. Welcome to 21st century Britain.

I guess it's all about self discipline.

I suspect if I had forked out 150 euros for that wonderful 40 year old tawny port I tasted, the bottle wouldn't have lasted very long.

Mind you, I suppose I could carry out a controlled trial on the subject!!!!

We were also interested to wander around the Olympic Park but can't find any information regarding price of Day Passes etc.
