Coulson/Brooks in the dock

8 News of the World people due to face trial over 19 charges to do with the phone hacking scandal. They include Andy Coulson and Rebecca Brooks. Brooks has also got a separate charge I think re. perverting the course of justice. That girl could be looking at a good stretch.

Coulson is also accused in relation to allegedly hacking into Milly's phone.

This is the Coulson who Cameron ignored umpteen people's advice not to touch with a barge pole and instead brought him into the government as Communications Director and allowd him to access top secret documents without being fully security vetted.

He's not been convicted yet, but I can feel Cameron may have to eat some humble pie in the House of Commons. Wonder if he plans to hold one of his "country suppers" with Rebecca and Andy before their possible sojourn in the NOTW wing of Brixton jail. Apparently G4S are planning to run it.

Can't you EVER make a post that doesn't in some way attempt to smear someone in the Coalition? If New Labour hadn't been up to their necks in stinking sleaze I wouldn't mind, but you ALWAYS choose to completely ignore this. If you ever displayed a balanced point of view, your posts could be taken more seriously.

The Coulson/Brooks connection with Cameron etc is quite valid, but when posted by you loses all its gravitas, because everyone knows if the connection was with anyone in New Labour, you wouldn't utter a word. So you sully a perfectly valid post, by your double standards.

All the same, let's face it, if New Labour were still in power, NO ONE would be being prosecuted at all!

Maybe you can explain, cupcake, what is a smear about stating 2 people have been charged and pointing out that "he's not been convicted yet".

Whilst I think the NOTW was a nasty rag there is something of a witch hunt about this. Why are we not chasing the greedy bankers and fund managers with equal gusto?

Probably because they had nothing to do with phone tapping Milly Dowler.

It's easy to explain what the NoTW people did wrong but economics is still a trickier subject.

The Merchant Wankers are worth a good witch hunt too, but it is "too" not "instead".
