Memories of getting home from work, collapsing on to the sofa, and turning on the TV to watch this.

When I heard this music I knew things weren't as bad as I thought they were no matter how bad my day had been and I was going to have a smile on my face for the next 30 minutes or so.

I think Sykes was on at about 7.30 pm on a Tuesday?

A funny guy, he seemed to have been around forever. I think the last thing I saw him in was 'Harry Potter'?

RIP.

I saw him live on stage once. He was brilliant at working the audience, particularly considering he was deaf!

There's no doubting his talent, but he blotted his copy-book for me when he and Jimmy Edwards took their stage show to Rhodesia (as it was in 1976) in what was clearly seen as a show of support for the illegal and racist government of Ian Smith.
