"In the Thick of It"

Post by David Johnson »

Lovers of the Armando Iannucci political comedy "In the Thick of it" may appreciate this.

Chloe Smith, the Economic Secretary to the Treasury explains the latest coalition budgetary u-turn on fuel tax on Newsnight.

Great stuff. Cue the Malcolm Tucker character "Which fuckwit put this brainless adolescent on Newsnight. (Malcolm Tucker bangs head on wall). She should be necking alcopops before having a knee trembler round the bikeshed rather than talking to Paxo. Give me fucking strength. Am I surrounded by half wits?

Who'd be a politician. I almost felt sorry for her.

As I don't watch the bbc I didn't see it , but no doubt she was no better then than when she appeared on sky news around 5-5:30 pm , she couldn't explain it then , just kept saying it'll be explained in the autumn statement when asked where else would the money come from .

What I found absolutely staggering though was the amount of idiots that then came out and said "it's a good thing 'cus fuel will be cheaper" . When in actual fact it not be cheaper because they're not reducing the duty , they're just not increasing it .
Cheers J .

Wrong person, in the wrong job, promoted way beyond their competence. And that's just her cowardly boss, Osborne.

Blame aside, it was car-crash tv, and I can feel no sympathy for her. It was her career choice, to quote J Rotten, and if she cant handle a Paxoing then she shouldn't be in government. In fact she's in the treasury simply because Cameron thought she had been an accountant in her pre-Westminster job at Deloittle rather than a business consultant. Posh-boy No.1 gets it wrong again in his appointments to government.

Yes, I have noticed that Osborne appears to have virtually disappeared from our screens. I can't recall any recent interviews unless he appeared like Cameron on the softly softly ITV morning TV slot.

Agree that Smith was totally out of her depth and left to defend the indefensible - an off the cuff decision that the Transport Secretary, Justine Greening apparently only found out the day before the announcement. An announcement of an unfunded tax cut of ?500 million in the sense that this is what it was budgeted to bring in if the 3p rise had went ahead..

Osborne has gone from "shrewd political analyst" to "political zero" in a matter of months throughout the UK press, which is some achievement.

Bukkake shots where you are with a few other guys...is fucking gay.

In fact, about pulling trains with a woman...you wanna have sex with other guys and mix your sperm with theirs...you're just using a woman as a conduit.
