You forgot to include police shooting young black youths in the chest and the closing down of shutters on a family demanding to know why their son was shot that precipitated those riots. They didnt start from nowhere.

Danny Boyle is one of the best directors to come out of the British Film Industry in years but there comes a time when you turn out such great work that you need not wipe your arse anymore for all the suck ups waiting to say everything you do is brilliant

Youre not hungry for anything when everything comes so easy and therein lies his downfall because he has lost touch with what Britain is about. Its evident in his ideas. Or as someone else said already, secretly having a giggle and laughing his arse all the way to the bank

Even if that was an ideal of the UK Danny is either out of touch or he is appealing to the`intellect of his sponsors or playing the stereotype of the UK tothe rest of the world. Im not sure which.

If he was my mate showing this to me for my opinion I would tell him I wasnt feeling it. You can do better than that Danny Boy

At least Damien Hirst wouldve done something a lot more interesting.

Maybe Dannys idea was thought provoking enough to get attention. It got ours !laugh!

I had hoped that Danny Boyle's opening ceremony would include junkies swimming in giant toilet bowls whilst zombies tear the arms off mountaineers, but this just sounds shit. I'd rather the Band of the Coldstream Guards played the national anthem, and the Queen declares the bastard thing open. That's ?80 million saved and the poor old Duke of Edinburgh doesn't have to go four hours without having a pee.

I'm not that bothered about the Olympics, when it comes to sport, I just watch Women's Beach Volleyball on Channel 4, these days....
