David, a simple A or B would have sufficed but you have managed to supply some waffle and no answer to the question.

Nothing more than I expected I suppose.
What exactly do you class as substantial training? Training is training. If you learn anything at all, surely it must be beneficial.

I have answered the question which was very badly phrased and compared apples and pears (playing on an Xbox and working for nothing) and then asked me to say which was better.

Hey Dick, what's better - washing your hair or having a shit? No evasion in the answer now!!!

Whether you are happy with the answer or not happy because it wasn't the answer you wanted, I am not bothered either way.

An example of training. In the early 80s I was unemployed and got on a training course as an analyst/programmer. I kept state benefits but went on a 6 month course that was run by a private sector company that was classroom based. I learnt a great deal and was grateful for having had the training (thank you, Maggie T and I dont often say that) and it helped me get a paid job in the IT industry in which I have worked ever since. The private sector company gained no financial advantage other than getting state payment for running the training course.

That is what I mean by substantial training. What I don't mean by training is spending a couple of hours been shown how to stack shelves and then working for nothing for 3 months doing exactly the same job as your paid colleagues. Nor do I mean by training, getting paid nothing to do a security job similar to paid operatives for which a security company is getting paid for.

No more to say to you on this. If you still don't understand or agree with what I am on about based on my posts in this thread, too bad!

It is a cross I will have to bear.

Nicely put David, but yet more waffle and no answer. The question was maybe badly phrased but surely the intent could be easily understood.
I can understand you not wanting to say any more as you seem to be unable to answer a simple question.
Even bad training teaches you something.
