And very good news it is. The Queen has put a 60 year shift in doing the monarchy bit which is a helluva lot more than some of the wasters who you might expect to become President in the monarchy's absence.

You can slag off some of the people on the Civil List for being a waste of space, but in a cost/benefit analysis of the Queen I suspect we have had better value for money than many of the tossers in the Houses of Parliament.

When I did live in London, couldnt believe how many tourists would be wandering around outside Buckingham Palace, toddling off to the Tower and Windsor Castle, Hampton Court etc etc. Even when there was nowt on. As for Changing on the Guard - jampacked alley.

Jubilee, bring it on!

From your monarchist in Johnson Towers with a glass of Chablis in hand, "Long live the monarchy".

ANd before anyone asks, no, I am not taking the piss!

There is nowt that comes anywhere near the Royal Family in the UK - we would be a poor nation without them.

Long live the Queen !
