Part of the fun of being a multi-godzillionaire is you can do what the fuck you like. The "Suit" is a symbol of being a servant to either another person or organisation or, as some say, "A cloth prison."

There was a time when a suit projected some kind of reliability and honesty, you used to hear about pensioners giving a con-man all their money because, "He was wearing a suit and seemed ever so nice."

Now a suit is the mark of the spiv, mainly thanks to the likes of bankers, estate agents and slimy antique dealers.

Would you trust this man or just call the police? !happy!

However there is nowt better than wearing a well cut suit at a wedding or other soiree. My father was a tad short and round and had his suits made to measure. They made him look slimmer and taller, all the work of a great Tailor. Zuck may think he is cool but there is a time and a place for casual and equally for formal.

It's just about a display of power. The bankers are his bitches, they have to wear suits, he can wear what he likes. If they turned up in jeans and sneakers he'd probably have a fit. Anyway, his shitty company is going down the pan, I heartily hope his overpriced shares soon hit what they are worth, maybe a dollar or two at most. Floating the company at $38 a share was a sign of pure greed on his part, so fuck him.

On this guy, the suit and the Aston Martin is a winning combo:

Is there not a saying, "The man wears the suit, not the suit wears the man?"

I know who I'd rather look like in another life and its NOT Laurence!

"The clothes do not make the man" is another saying.

This has perhaps more something to do with Zuckerberg's circles: amongst computer geeks, suits, and especially ties, are frowned upon. If you wear one, you make yourself immediately an outcast, as someone who's sold out.

This is not so much about enforcing casual dressing, but a tie effectively has no function in a men's outfit other than an ornamental one. Moreover, it reduces comfort. In other words, it is something you (as a competent programmer) would get rid of were it part of a computer program. Geeks apply such rules to everyday life.

I don't derive that knowledge from The Big Bang Theory, I am a computer scientist myself. I do not own a suit, never had one, and I am in my 50ies now. I do own a tie though which I have worn twice in the last 30 years.

Or indeed, "The man doth not make the clothes!"

I guess if the "who's the master, whose the bitch" axis switched then Zuckerberg may don a suit for formal occasions. But, like has been said, as the bankers and so on around him are there to grovel to him, rather than he-them, then it doesn't really matter how the cat is dressed. I imagine in the early days of Zuckerberg's business he was suited and booted. The sneakers/jeans/hoodie/i-pod vibe has probably only been occuring since he has been calling the shots.

Well until the Congressional inquiry and the potential criminal charges are resolved I suppose.
