That doesn't sound right.

Why do they need water from Scotland to cool their reactors? I thought they used sea water and that's why they build the reactors on the coast.

Yes good point Spider, although the French are cunning bastards! They built those reactors on their Northern coast to ensure that in the event of a meltdown, the prevailing winds will carry any nuclear fallout over us rather than them!

They hate us! They have never forgiven us for the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805 and they forever seek revenge!

Perhaps by "Scottish Water" they really means whisky.

The word whisky is an anglicisation of the Gaelic word uisce|uisge meaning water.

There's a bunch of Frenchmen out of their heads on whisky running nuclear power stations - this is worse that I first thought!

Not all of the system can be cooled by brine. Some has to be fresh. They bring it from Scotland, I presume, because they have interests there as in the south east. What their fresh water production is like in France I dunno.
The prevaling view here on the south coast, and always has been, is that if they had a nuclear incident then the prevaling winds would carry any contamination away from La Belle France and contaminate Albion Perfide !!!

I was told by an SG piper that it meant "Water of Life" That's why they drink so much of it. Something which I learned to do after 5 years with em.
