R.I.P. Alex Cassie

Alex Cassie ? Never heard of him ? Hardly surprising, but I bet you have
seen his likeness a few times....
If, like most Brit males, you have spent a few afternoons re-watching "The
Great Escape" on the telly then you`ve seen Alex as personified by Donald
Pleasance. Alex Cassie was "the forger" in charge of all the brilliant fake
ids and stuff generated for the escape from "ze nazis".
In real life he went into the tunnel but suffered a claustrophobic attack and
agreed to stay behind. He died this week aged 95. R.I.P.
