Despite these denials by Meatus, has not the said person already admitted delivering the EBT tax scheme to Rangers?

If Meatus insists that he didn't, the implication is that Meatus knows it to be someone else, which begs the question who?

Correct, if the journalist providing this information is to be believed.

I have no idea who it is at all. I just now that said person, no matter what he claims has no link at all to Glasgow Rangers FC, nor to The Murray Group, or Murray International Holdings who owned Glasgow Rangers from 1988 - 2011 when they sold it to Craig Whyte. The EBT Tax Case is from the years 2000 - 2008 and this person has never had any kind of relationship as an advisor to the club or to Sir David Murray during Murrays Stewardship. As far as i'm aware he still has no definitive links to Rangers FC only as an advisor to current Chairman Craig Whyte. So i have no idea why he is spouting his claims. Also in today's Daily Record it is claimed that HMRC are looking into 4500!!! British Companies accused of the same EBT Tax Scheme. Also announced today is that Craig Whyte took the ?24.4 million Ticketus money for 4 seasons worth of season tickets to buy the club and pay off its debts to the Lloyds Banking Group.

Regardless of whether the above claim by Meatus is true or false, the person in question has issued a press release on the subject of Glasgow Rangers EBT.

I haven't seen the press release, but I expect it probably argues that the tax problem at Rangers has arisen through the way that Rangers implemented their EBT scheme, rather than because EBT schemes themselves are inherently flawed.

I have no idea if the press release contains anything which would support the contentions made by Meatus.

A statement from Rangers to clear this matter up would be useful, assuming that Rangers even know what advice they took in the past. Perhaps a statement from Sir David Murray would be even more useful in this case.

I don't see the problem. Why can't porn stars moonlight as tax advisers? Lolly Badcock's been doing my tax returns for years.
