eBay and UK... interesting?

I am sure you guys knew this but eBay does not pay UK corporation tax at a rate I am sure certain members of this forum would like...

eBay is tax registered in Luxembourg.... and so avoids a bit of tax to help the elderly, the NHS, the wars, the benefits system...

I don't see people matching the streets about that??

The whiners only complain about things they can't take advantage of themselves. You never hear them moaning about the tax avoidance they themselves practice with their pension plans, ISA's and duty free booze.

They'll buy DVD's through places like Play.com, via the Channel Islands so they don't pay the VAT and save a few quid, and if they make and international purchase that doesn't sneak through customs and gets stung for import duty, they'll squeal like a short changed hooker how unfair it is. They'll pay the tradesman in cash to avoid the VAT, no receipt, it's all good.

That is one of the bulwarks of the Occupy movement and UK Uncut. Tax avoidance by the vast majority of UK companies. 98 of the FTSE 100 companies take advantage of tax havens.

So surprise, surprise Von Boy, protestors don't choose a different company for each protest, its more a general point of tax avoidance that is being made.

Could you share with us the indepth survey that you or others have done which suggests that people who moan about tax avoidance, do it themselves at every opportunity?

Probably because they are too busy complaining as to why the ?100K they have paid into their pension plan over the last 15 years is worth ?80K currently even if they had a clue what happened to their money.

This shows you have no understanding whatsoever of the term tax avoidance. Duty free is an agreement countries make and understand the implications of that agreement from a tax perspective. Tax avoidance is where complex loopholes are used in ways which the Revenue never envisaged to pay less tax. The only difference between tax avoidance and tax evasion is that the Revenue and/or the government hasnt show the guts to close down the loophole yet.

I know now why you dont understand this. YOu spend far too long spending hours at Swiss train stations for trains that are delayed and whiling away hours calculating on your laptop how much you have saved by paying 17% tax in Switzerland as opposed to the tax in the UK so that when you fly back to visit your relatives you can give them the exact figure.

Now Mr Von Boy I presume in the past you have suggested in posts that not only do you "travel", but you actually travel abroad! I'm afraid our resident "Cockney sparra," takes great exception to those that have a life experience that extends beyond, 1/ BGAFD and 2/ far worse, beyond the doors of the, "Dog & Duck!" You see as far as David Johnson is concerned, because you have committed these acts, you are unable to have an opinion on anything, let alone tax avoidance by multinational companies.

You see in David Johnson's narrow,pre- programmed mind, because you "Travel" abroad, you must be a "Daily Mail reader" and as such probably a closet Tory! Whilst on the other hand, he is a salt of the earth, good 'old flat cap wearing, "I'll 'ave a pint 'o Best, guvna'!" Socialist, which allows him to have an opinon ON ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING ON EARTH from aid to Somalia, the problem of Tories unleashing swarms of Africanised killer bees, price of fags, global warming...........you however, Mr Von Boy are not permitted to have an opinion...... Anyway in short , I can explain how EBay pays fuck all tax in the UK with the use of 2 words...........New Labour! Forget anything Thatcher or the Tories ever did, they were nothing compared to New Labour who were absloute masters at bending over for the rich to fuck them up the arse.........minus the lube!! The pathetic wankers thought if you make the rich, richer, with no controls whatsoever, they will pass down a few pennies to everyone else and create, "Employment!"

NO THEY WONT, make the rich, richer and they will just pocket more money......FACT! This culture of greed created by New Labour has spread like a sickness through all levels of high management from the public sector to banks through to the private sector, where all these cunts BELIEVE THEY DESERVE huge bonuses and salaries, regardless of their success or failure. As for the enormous tax loopholes, they were left wide open for the rich for the whole of New Labours 13 years of calamity. However the New Labour did without any delay, bung as much tax as they could on peoples, company cars, that little perk workers had, oh no New labour couldn't possibly allow that!!! Oh yes and they removed mortgage tax relief and and introduced fees for further education, apart from for the Scots and Welsh. In other words fuck over the workers and bend over for the rich..............real Socialists!laugh!!laugh!!laugh!

It will take many years for any government, even a new New Labour bunch, to erode and destroy this culture.
