mkv to avi converter

Hi There,
Does anybody know of a mkv to avi converter which work fully, the one i try yesterday will only do 20% of the file.
And the other one I try left a brandname on the avi file.

"mpeg streamclip" seems to convert anything to anything. Take a look at that.

Yes http://www.freemake.com is the best thing to convert any media & its free which is a bonus, John converts lots of his material to MKV as its small is size but as clear as MPEG2 dvd quality & you can also convert vice versa from MKV to any format.
