R.I.P. Florence Green

Who was Florence Green ? Porn star perhaps ? Someone famous ?
Actually she was none of these things....but the last British veteran
who had served in the 1st World War (though not in combat). So, with
Flo`s passing a whole generation has died out eventually....and the world
has changed beyond the recognition of many. There are none left. To all
of them, the lucky ones who came home in 1918 and died in their beds,
and the countless thousands who died in the mud and squalor of the
Western Front, or the sandhills of the Dardanelles, the jungles of East
Africa or on the high seas....may their spirit and sacrifice long be
remembered.
