Yeah that of course is the other question a financial imbecile might ask themselves.

Why am I opening this account in my dog's name rather than my own?

It's a pity that this isn't being televised. 'Arry and his defence team put their side of the story next week. Could be a classic.

I struggle to see 'Arry getting out of this. The financial imbecile tack would only work if he had had no involvement in setting up the account, I would have thought. Doing it off his own bat and not telling his accountant is pushing it.

Even if he miraculously gets off, I can't see the FA viewing a potential Redknapp England manager application favourably.

No but being a crook has not been necessarily a bar to being England manager in the past has it? Nor being manager of Spurs either, for that matter...

'Arry says he earns ?40k a week so why would he need to fiddle his taxes? Cos he got greedy, same as George Graham... who wasn't the crooked Spurs manager I was referring to before in case he reads this...

I wonder if he really did it, but just got off on a technicality. I haven't really studied the news coverage about it today. Why else would they have arrested him and charged him over it if there wasn't something to base the arrest and the charge over? And why did he open an account in Monaco? When I hear the words "wealthy British businessman" and "Monaco" in the same sentence, the words "tax" and "dodge" always come to mind.

Of course he did it.!shush! But he's a nice geezer, a future Englund manager and the jury helped him out. (maybe he passed around some brown envelopes to them? ) Had he been a banker he would be guilty now!

I would love to have seen the faces of the prosecution when the verdict was announced. 4 years they had to build their case and they blew it. I bet they are in the pub getting rat arsed. I would be.
British Justice is great, if you are Arry Rednapp that is, but not if you are the parent of a child who has been run over and killed by an illegal immigrant with no driving licence or car tax.
Makes one think doesn't it, eh?

Cloud cuckoo land

Jeeeeeeez. Were the jury composed of Spurs fans? A fucking mazing.

1. He opens an account in an offshore tax haven using his dog's name.
2. Mandaric moves in ?189K into the dog's account. Lot of chewies for that dog.
3. Redknapp tells a reporter that it is definitely a bonus on transfer deals.
4. Redknapp doesn't tell the taxman anything about this account for about 4 years.

'Arry's defence is.

1. Mandaric owed him a 10% bonus on the Crouch deal but refused point blank to give him any more than 5%.
2. Even though 1. above has happened, Mandaric decides "to do something for his friend" by giving him ?189K for investments for Redknapp.
3. Redknapp argues that the info he gave to the reporter was a pack of lies. The reason for these lies was because he did not want negative stories ahead of a cup final. Let's get this right, Arry you told a News of the World reporter that you had wopped ?189K from transfer bonuses into a tax haven account because you didnt want "negative stories ahead of a cup final". Really?
4. Arry says "I have to tell police the truth, not Mr Beasley - he's a News of the World reporter."

And the icing on the cake is "Following the verdicts, former Spurs chairman Lord Sugar told BBC Radio 5 Live: "If this was Harry Smith or Harry Brown, it would never have gone to court. This is an attempt by the authorities to make an example of a high profile personality which has backfired."

Fuck me, if Redknapp becomes England manager, he will be a great loss to panto. Maybe they could audition for Dozy in Snow White and the Seven Dwarves from the jury.

Or am I missing something completely?
