new leaked U2 song...

Post by max_tranmere »

This has appeared on YouTube, probably put there by some sneaky studio assistant who worked with U2 on some demo's for a possible new album and decided to leak it. I can't find any reference to it on any official U2 site. What do people think of the song? I think it's rather good.

you won't find any reference to it on U2's website because it is not U2, it is by a band heavily inspired by U2 called Golden State.

That's interesting, I never knew. Well researched aswell. The guy sounds just like Bono, and the guitar sounds just like what The Edge would do. To say this band was heavily inspired by U2 is almost an understatement, they are a clone of U2.

proper NEW song from U2...

Post by max_tranmere »

I found this on Youtube, U2 doing this at a gig a year and a half ago. This is certainly a new one, unless it's a cover of someone else's song, but I dont think it is. Their last official new releases were three years ago when the album "No line on the horizone" came out. This is a nice song, you can really hear The Edge's typical guitar playing here, his effects board (that he always has at his feet) is in full use. Differnt sequences are used throughout the song.

U2 are good at what they do i will grant them that and their success proves it but they don't do much for me, their 80s stuff was good but now each song sound too samey same, same formula used for each song thats why it makes it easy for bands like Golden State to copy their style because they are too predictable. safe music for the radio i suppose.
