Allies to bring much needed democracy to Iran

Post by David Johnson »

After the tremendous successes in bringing democracy to Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya, (see below for what is possible when you have spent Christ knows how many billions --- )

I see absolutely no point in our brave boys in khaki, Diamond Dave and General Hague, buggering about waiting to get UN approval for an invasion of Iran. Let's get to it boys and bring democracy to Iran based on our enormous triumphs already in the last 10 years.

If only these countries had the democracy that we have?

We are in debt of a trillion, we can't afford to break up a playground fight let alone invade Iran with whats left of our tin pot army.

I don't mind you having a go at the politicians, they deserve to be castigated for all the lying and cheating that they get up to, but don't take the piss out of our service personnel. They are better than anything you stand for.

"but don't take the piss out of our service personnel"

I'm not. I am taking the piss out of Cameron and Hague.

"They are better than anything you stand for."

No they are not. The armed forces do not choose where they fight.

The Second World War was an example of a just war in which the troops defended the UK with unbelievable courage and bravery. Troops can be used in just as well as unjust wars. The Iraq war is an example of an unjust war. The armed forces are the military wing of the government and can end up in noble as well as ignoble wars.

This topic is way above simple party politics now. Tony Blair and George Bush lit the fuse and stoked the flames of the so called, "War or terror" and now it has a life of its own. God only knows who is controlling the whole thing and terrifyingly it is all so predictable. No party will resist the call to war now! This will not end until the West controls and dominates all of the Middle East and their oil.

"This topic is way above simple party politics now."

If you had bothered to read my post instead of coming up with your customary, dumb, knee jerk reaction you would have noticed that although I state

"I am taking the piss out of Cameron and Hague."

I also state

"Troops can be used in just as well as unjust wars. The Iraq war is an example of an unjust war".

I am clearly not making a party political point........obviously!

Now, now Jim. Is that how you spell condascending? I don't mind the wanker bit. It is a porn forum after all.

I accept a number of my points criticise our current government. And lord knows there is plenty to criticise.

On the subject of foreign wars though I have been consistent in my criticism of both Labour and Tory led governments.

Now have a cup of tea and calm down.

Another success in Libya

Post by David Johnson »

It takes a lot for Medecins sans Frontieres to pull out of a war zone.

However they have withdrawn from Misrata in Libya due to the fact that militias and recognised government security forces etc have been bringing tortured captives to them for treatment in between interrogation sessions.
