The Venus Project

Have been watching the film "Zeitgeist Addendum" which shows just how irrelevant governments are in the modern World. How the World is actually being run by a so called fundamentally corrupt, "Corporatracy" with its hub being the USA. Its control of the World through the creation of massive debt and then in turn controlling those countries. Definitely worth watching this film.

The Venus Project is a group of people that look to technology to create a new world. Very interesting if you have an open mind.

Iv watched all 3 of the zeitgeist films which are very interesting along with the Obama deception and a few others along the conspiracy theory lines, it's like there is all this information out there on how corrupt the governments are yet they are still in power! i also find the more you watch this kind of film it messes with your head like its an information overload! the venus project is all well and good but there would still be some powercrazed fool wanting to control everything.

I think that it's a nice ideal to aim for. I thought the explanation of the "Fractional reserve" system operated by the banks was terrifying. The fact that US banks and possibly ours as well can re-lend 90% of whatever is on deposit is alarming. Basically making money out of thin air.

The American "Economic hit man" interview was also hair raising, as he explains how he would visit a South American country and make "Suggestions" as to how their country should be run, whilst at the same time offering massive loans which could never be repaid. If the ruler didn't tow the line, they were simply eliminated, the loans made and then the US banks would simply buy up their infrastructure when the country couldn't afford the repayments any more. I wonder if this is what is happening now in Italy and Greece?

Basically, replace Don Corleone from the Godfather, with the crazed US ruling elite, make it's tentacles Worldwide and you have the present situation. It certainly puts into focus the movie The Ghost Writer, where the Yanks are even choosing our politicians for us!

Spot on Jim. That is exactly what is going on with Europe and Greece. Money is the way to enslave nations through debt.

How is it that Africa is the richest source of minerals on the earth but it is the most poorest place in the world?

Its not always humanitarian intentions involved with helping that continent.

Glad you liked the Zeitgeist films Jim. Now check out Freedom To Fascism if you can find it. It was made by Aaron Russo a former Hollywood producer who turned his back on Hollywood to make this film. He didnt do this on for the money thats for sure. He definitely wanted to get this one off his chest.

I love the ideas behind the Venus project but I fear we'll only be trading our present existence off for another that will be ultimately corrupted.

I was a bit cynical when I read the Venus project and will admit to thinking of that Drax chap in Moon Raker...Was he really a bad guy or just overly aggressive in making the dream happen? I watched Avatar again last night on a second viewing you realise that the whole film is a metaphor for the American war machine. I remember there is even a quote, "First we identify what you own and we may want, then we make you our enemy. Then we just take it!"

In other words, "The war on terror."

I think the Venus Project is a lovely idea, but it would worry me being ruled by such people as they would install their own version of Facism. I can't imagine there would be much room for people like Jeremy Clarkson in such a New World, surely with his views, he would have to be "Re-programmed?" or possibly even eliminated? Well, to be honest I could live with that. But what about those secretly found to be making, "Sausages in batter?" What do you do with them? Or in fact anyone who doesn't wish to adhere to the squeaky clean, techno-fascist New World?

Anyway, I noticed in the Venus Project promo they had a electro-magnetic train that goes at 4000 MPH and you could, "Have breakfast in Beijing" if you wanted. "Hmm", firstly I noticed that in the animation there is only one tunnel, so how do you get back and there was certainly no escape tunnel in case of fire. But of course in their brave new world, nothing ever goes wrong. Secondly I thought, problem is that Virgin has trouble running trains at an average speed of 40 mph without breakdowns and cancellations and signal failures, so I think we are rather a long way off the Venus Project taking hold!!happy!
