We are marooned on an island in the middle Gulf of Thailand at the moment. Thailand, "The Land of Fakes" doesn't give a toss about treaties concerned with copyright and so we have been supplied with a media centre with over 1500 movies and virtually every classic TV series from the days when we made good TV including ALL the Poirots. Even Giorgio Armani has a stall in town, from where he is selling his designer suits! Although I think he should ditch the vest and the tooth-pick!!wink!
Since all my stuff is ruthlessly pirated everywhere, it is quite refreshing to actually get a benefit for once myself!

I fell asleep halfway through and missed the end !sad!
Re: Im Watching Poirot Tonight
The broadcasting of Poirot and other classics should be synced with the National Weather Service only to be shown of wet and windy Sunday afternoons. This could include The Dambusters, The Longest Day, Dad's Army and.....errm can't think of anything else!

I thought the word, "Marooned" sounded better than, "Lazing about" although it is technically true that we are, "Marooned" as there is no airport and only an infrequent boat service to the mainland!!wink!

Poirot sorted it all out.
I used to spend a lot of time criticizing Islam on here in the noughties - but things are much better now.
Re: Im Watching Poirot Tonight
Yes we've had a very nice Xmas over here, but it's not all lazing around palm trees sipping from fresh coconuts and being massaged by beautiful Thai girls!
I am also helping a poor guy from Burma, (which is a shithole run by a dictator) who earns the princely sum of ?7.00 a day, to bring some electricity to a few houses in his village in Burma, that has FUCK ALL even running water to my knowledge!
I am designing a solar panel/ 12 volt DC battery/ inverter 220 volt AC system to power a few lights for a few homes in his village. The system is all backed up by an old moped driving an 12 volt alternator to back up the solar panel to put some more power in the battery or batteries, if required.
The solar panel has to be made of solar cells all wired up and placed on an old door window plus a couple of car batteries and a trashed moped. The inverter needs to be purchased, but its all possible to do for next to nothing.........for a Westerner, but a kings ransom for one of these poor folk!
They will have to ration the leccy to about 5 hours a night...........and he's over the moon about it!
Puts your own life in perspective!
By the way, I'm looking for some 1mm twin and earth lighting cable and any other bits and pieces that may be of use, like tools, clips, to send to him.

Re: Im Watching Poirot Tonight
I stopped watching Poirot when the Suchet fella stepped in. As an actor I personally think he is fucking awful. Not a patch on the previous Poirots, especially Peter Ustinov. But, I iterate, it is my personal opinion, OK?
