Could 2infro write in english please ! The actress he refers to is Hailey
Mills, daughter of Sir John, and the star of several Disney movies
as a child, though also good with Hywel Bennett in "Twisted Nerve",
a nice little 70`s psycho thriller......"Lassie" was a huge money spinner,
creating numerous sequels and one of the great animal movies of all
time. Its in a league of its own as a tear-jerker for kids. MGM did not
think animal pictures would ever catch on with the public. Director Sam
Wood had such a battle to get it made that when he reminisced about it
in a televised interview about 15 years ago he burst into tears because
he said the stress of its production still played on his mind (and if he has
had to deal with companies like Private or Hustler as I have as a porn
director I can guess where he`s coming from)........
As for "The Swarm", I actually paid to see the bloody thing on release !
Fool that I am !
As an expat nothing would make me happier than to find a nice olde
englishe country hotel, lock myself quietly in my room over Xmas, indulge
in all these marvellous old movies you get for free on Brit TV and stuff
myself with british festive grub ! Wonderful !

Haven't even looked at the listings because I know it'll be the same old bollocks as every year.
Mrs Eric and I will be vegging out post-turkey with our own choice of DVDs. Who needs Xmas TV? It's almost invariably shite.

I agree, the majority of the Xmas TV schedule is poor and there is a lot of crap films on....but what the hell is wrong with John Wayne movies?
Re: XMAS shit films. Include
I can't remember most of the crap films they've shown..
There was a few James Bond films I remembered from the past..
The Wizard of Oz? I fell asleep through that.
There was nothing good throughout Xmas. I ended up watching some my DVD collection instead. TV was boring and a load of rubbish.

Wizard of Oz
I think 'The Wizard of Oz' is a marvellous film, and I'm not even gay. It's so full of sub-texts and diversions, of a sexual, political, social and technical nature you could spend an age working them all out. However, 'The Wiz' truly was an atrocious film.
