If they appeal is there a danger it will be considered 'frivolous' and he'll get additional games ?

Still has the hearing to come for gestures to the Fulham fans.

The verdict has been given, but we wait to see on what evidence, as the panel haven't realeased that information yet, although it seems to be purely Evra's word... oh wait a minute, hasn't he accused people before without evidence? The game was televised, no cameras or mics showed any evidence, no players corroberated Evras claims, and Evra even accused the ref of booking him cos he was black. The terms Luis admits to using are not considered racist in his or any Spanish or Portugese culture.

No riots here in Merseyside, but this will go to court I'm sure.

Football may be a sport, but the man's reputation has been tarnished, and the club will fight to clear his name.

If this verdict sticks, then god help john terry.

It doesn't matter about Spanish/Portugese culture. If the terms he used are considered racist in England then he is a racist for using them.

I am not a fan of the buck toothed, gravity challenged cannibal Suarez but if it is a case of one persons word against another it is a very dangerous road to go dowm,

As you say Grebdel1, god help John Terry. It may even cause riots in Chelsea. Mind you, if there were riots in Chelsea they would just send Ashley Cole down with his air gun to sort it out.

His grandfather was black, he hardly speaks any English. He is no racist. A cultural language misunderstanding does not make a racist. So is Evra a racist for accusing the ref for booking him cos he's black?

He called a black man 'negro' numerous times during a face-to-face confrontation. Negro on it's own may not be considered racist in Uruguay but given the context in which it was used, and Suarez's knowledge of how it would be taken in Europe (he spent 4 years in The Netherlands, which is a modern, progressive, multicultural country, like the UK so he cannot plead ignorance of racial etiquette) then I think an 8 game ban, plus ?40,000 fine is fair.

I used to spend a lot of time criticizing Islam on here in the noughties - but things are much better now.

Suarez was suspended whilst at Ajax for biting someone. Regardless of his language skills and cultural background he knows the difference between right and wrong.

What about the referee's report .. would this not have supported Evra's complaint ?
