When basiclaly it boils down to the same thing,neglect of your kids. The McCanns are nice middle class white professionals,thats why the media lapped them up.

Hmmmm interesting definition of 'lapped them up' Were they lapping them up when reporting that the childs blood had been found in the boot of the hire car? And printing stories suggesting that they had murdered the child? Were the press lapping them up when publishing articles about them being wild swingers? were they lapping them up with the articles that stated Kate McCann would not give the police the Teddy bear she carried for forensic examination because it some how held the key to 'What really happened that night'?

This remark by videokim is untruthful. The Portuguese police have twice publicly stated that there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever to implicate the parents in Madeleine's disappearance and even though the case is still unresolved they have fully ruled out that line of enquiry.

Under Portuguese law it's possible for people to remain suspects for years but have to be given "arguido" status. Even if a case is closed people can still continue to be classed as "arguido" if the case is not regarded as solved and they could in theory be "arguido" forever. The McCanns however have had their arguido status lifted, clear proof indeed that the Portuguese police have ruled them out as suspects.

If the Portuguese police still thought the McCanns were suspects in the case they would have seriously broken the law themselves by lifting the McCanns arguido status.
