The McCanns

Post by number 6 »

On tv tonight bemoaning the press and how it badly it has treated them. Yet they courted the taboids all the way(rightly or wrongly) in a desperate attempt to help find their daughter. Still leaves a bad taste in the mouth that they left their kid alone on the night she was taken, they have to share some of the blame. Its old news i know but if they lived in a council block in Brixton oh boy would have been treated differently.

Nope but it is their fault that they fucked off and left the kids alone

Bukkake shots where you are with a few other guys...is fucking gay.

In fact, about pulling trains with a woman...you wanna have sex with other guys and mix your sperm with theirs...you're just using a woman as a conduit.

Careful, that odious couple seem to be beyond criticism.

I saw Sheryl 'I hate Paul, but not enough to stop using his name' Gascoigne was moaning that dancing with the devil was a two way street, too.

We have need of you again, great king.

What do you mean, 'rightly or wrongly'? Are you undecided whether it was right for them to try every avenue possible to find their missing kid? Jesus.
Still leaves a bad taste in the mouth that they left their kid alone on the night she was taken, they have to share some of the blame.
I think they must realise this and will pay for their mistake the rest of their lives, I fear. Bad as it was, everyone makes mistakes. While they are to blame, you've got to have sympathy, not matter what their social standing.

I'd like to think not. They may have been perceived differently, though, and partly due to the presses exposure as well as your average person's presupposition about 'council-block scum'.

If I was the McCanns I'd quietly disappear back under a rock. The simple mention of their name in my office raises the hackles of the mothers and grandmothers to volcano level.

I don't get this hatred of the McCanns. I didn't know there were so many perfect people on this forum who have never made a mistake.

1. The McCanns made a bad mistake in leaving their children alone while they ate nearby. They have admitted this and will forever be beating themselves up for that mistake.

2. Understandably they tried to get as much publicity as possible to help them find their daughter. This is what happens in every murder/abduction case.

3. They have been vilified in the press and had numerous lies told about them concerning their private lives, resulting in the press admitting culpability and paying damages.

4. They had every right to appear at the Levenson inquiry and comment on the way in which they have been harassed, hassled and lied about in the press.

Have a heart, for Christ sake.

The commission/inquiry has become about celebrities and reinforces the view that their experiences and feelings are more valuable than the average person.

There are a lot of ordinary people whose lives have been hideously misreported with tragic consequences, but the McCanns, Coogans and others are given much greater priority.

This strikes me as totally misinformed and a complete distortion of the inquiry.

1. the McCanns are NOT celebrities. They were a couple who's daughter disappeared whilst on holiday. If this hadn't happened you would not have known them from Adam.

2. The Dowlers are NOT celebrities. They were a couple who's daughter was abducted and killed whilst scumbags working for a newspaper hacked their daughter's phone.

3. Mary Ellen Field is not a celebrity. She was someone who lost her job with Elle Macpherson, then the company she worked with. As a result she ended up having a breakdown. All of this because she was wrongly accused of selling stories which had in fact been obtained by phone hacking.

4. Margaret and Jim Watson are NOT celebrities. Their daughter was murdered in 1991 and their son subsequently committed suicide as a result of articles about his sister which his mum and dad argued were full of lies.

5. The reason so-called "celebrities" have been in the inquiry such as Hugh Grant and Sienna Miller is because there are hundreds of thousands of sad arses in the UK who get off on buying tabloid newspapers and magazines like Hello and Ok in order to read moronic tittle tattle about "celebrities". The has resulted in years and years of harassment, breaches of privacy etc etc of said "celebrities" lives to feed the sad arses' addiction to reading shite.

THe inquiry has accurately reflected both groups so far.
