This view would only make any sense whatsoever if the Labour government were still in power and Blair, Brown, Mandleson etc might want to cover their tracks.

But they are not in power and given I am sure that Cameron would be delighted to see embarrassing information about the last government emerge at the Hague, I don't see any logic in your view.

The NTC have already stated they want to see Saif Gaddafi on trial in Libya.
Clearly they want to bolster their own legitimacy and credibility in so doing.

British governments dont like to set precedents when it comes to releasing what might be compromising information about their predecessors. They know they will be in opposition themselves soon enough. They like to look after their own.

"British governments dont like to set precedents when it comes to releasing what might be compromising information about their predecessors."

Then how do you explain the fact that senior Tories such as the chairman of the foreign affairs committee are demanding a parliamentary enquiry into Tony Blair's relationship with Gaddafi..

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politic ... ddafi.html

And that this demand was in part prompted by William Hague who stated before the very same Foreign Affairs committee that questions needed to be asked about the "chumminess of the relationship between Blair and Gaddafi"

I think "justice" in the Middle East can be summed in this way, "First we give you a fair trial and then we hang you!"

As far as the "Unholy Trinity" of lying, greedy, double dealing crooks, that are Blair, Mandelson and Prince Andrew, I expect they are quaking in their hand made boots and I do think that if some shit is churned up about Blair & Mandy, it WOULD dent New Labour's attempts at trying to appear squeaky clean........again!

All we can do now is hope and pray that Saif Al-Islam lives to tell the tale!

What Saif says and what he can prove are two different things.

He will not doubt have an "accident"...to stop VP Blair and Butch Mandy getting their arses hung out to dry in public (although Mandelson probably pays a couple of young Brazilian illegal immigrant boys to do that anyway).
I would trust Young Gaddafi over Blair and his yank gobbling cronies any day..

This is a very intelligent point and definitely correct. Everyone tends to believe rambling, psychopathic maniacs like Saif Gaddafi. Why? Because they are noted for always telling the truth whatever the situation.

When Saif said all Libyans loved Gaddafi, did everyone believe him? Course they did!

When Saif said he was going to wipe these non-Libyan rebels off the face of the earth, did everyone believe him? Course they did!

When Saif said Tony Blair was Kylie Minogue with a short, grey perm, did everyone believe him? COurse they did!
