An alternative was to make enemy troops sexually attractive to stinging and biting insects and rodents. They also spent 50 years looking into a Who?Me? stink bomb that would produce smells leading enemy troops to think one of them had farted or suddenly developed bad breath"

This is a very cunning plan to undermine enemy morale. I imagine in the middle of an exchange of heavy gunfire, troops would be severely distracted by a colleague's bad breath.

I think the Pentagon has far too many boffins with too much time on their hands. A 155mm shell will normally do the trick, and will seriously undermine the morale of anyone on the end of it.
