Noel and Damon meet, first time in 15 years...

Post by max_tranmere »

I watched Noel Gallagher on Jonathan Ross this evening (Saturday) and it was a very interesting interview. He confirmed, as Ross asked him, that he recently bumped into Damon Albarn in a nightclub and they got on very well. Noel said that all the things he said about Damon years ago were said because he (Noel) was 'as high as a kite' and didnt know what he was saying. So the two Kings of Britpop, whose issues with each other helped make the Britpop movement what it was, have now put it all behind them. Noel even said he would not be against collaborating with Damon - he said that musically he was 'single and ready to mingle'. That would be one interesting collaboration!

Those eager-beavers on YouTube have already put up the clip. Post any comments below:

I have to say, I watched this last night and I was well impressed with Noel.

When he was saying things like "I was washing the dishes and ....." I though that was soooo rock'n'roll :o)

Much more than a handful but never a waste.

Toyboys always welcome in this MILF's panties.

I saw that last night too and was mightily impressed. Wasnt sure if washing the dishes was a metaphor for doing something equally mundane (like baking a cake) It could be code for something else !laugh!

Glad to see the boys have put that bullshit behind them. Lets face it, most fall outs are over bullshit that escalates into a full on war that ends up being blinded by pride.

The media don't help things either as the controversy is what makes sales

A great pity his solo album is a boring dirge. A massive disappointment, come on Noel you can do much better.

Just watched an interesting 30 minute documentary about Noel's new album on ITV1. I heard tonight the album has gone to no.1 in the charts. Apparently a lot of the songs were written 10 years ago when Oasis were still at their height and selling out stadiums, this wasn't in the programme I heard it elsewhere, and if these had been recorded and released as Oasis songs back then Oasis would have been regarded as a better band in their later stages. Instead they put out largely sub-standard stuff in their later years. It makes you wonder why these songs weren't recorded and released by the band back then. They are high quality tracks.

I have an answer to that. Noel has wanted to put out a solo album for about 10 years or so now. And Liam told him that if he ever put out a solo record then that would be the end of Oasis. Liam said he would quit immediately if any of them released a solo record while they were still Oasis. So Liam has accused Noel of saving up all his good songs for his "Supposed" solo record & not giving them to Oasis! Though now Oasis are no more he's put them out. So perhaps Liam was right. Also at least 3 of the tracks on the album were 'demoed' by Oasis. And one of them was freshly written and recorded specifically for the album.
