That much is becoming clear looking at news reports in the last hour or so. Apparantly the guy was surrounded by armed officers,so why did they shoot first? Its no wonder the community are up in arms,its going back to Menenzes and way before to the bad old days of the 80s.

its not the bad old days its NOW everybody knows you dont carry guns in this country if ya do ya get what you deserve no ifs no buts,its against the law there are no options ,you just dont carry guns it aint rocket science

He probubly never put the gun down when told to and pointed it at someone ergo a police officer thought was in fear of his or someone elses life so the officer fired.

If a group of armed police stop you do as they say or they will shoot you.

Sky News have reported rightly or wrongly that according to a line that the Guardian are running with, ballistics show that the bullet that hit the policemen's radio was police issue.

I think in this case the pratt either had an over inflated case of his own ego and thought that he was bullitt proof or he was trying to commit suicide by police.

Either way if there are a group of police with guns do as they say. You will always come off worse if you don't

In every country onm the world except here there would not be an issue with the police shooting a person with a gun who is endangering other police officers and the public.

I feel sorry for the amount of Paperwork that the officers will have to do now and the fact thaqt they have to go through a lot of crap.

He had a gun and he was shot end of story.

Police will make mistakes. It is that simple.

But it is better what we have here rather than say LA where there are lots of gun fights. The police are very restrained.

In the dark and the heat of the moment a peice of wood will look like a gun.

The Cheif Constable of Tayside Police (I think) in Scotland said that he wanted people to stop geting replica guns as one day his officers will shoot someone with a replica.

Again if this happens there will be the usual investigation pish and people saying it was the police's fault as opposed to the little scrote who was so fucking stupid he did not realise that the police were not his little mates adn are not fucking about.

It is crap.
